Ablocalipse

Ablocalipse is a top-down zombie survival game set in an abandoned town. For now it's a sandbox, with no story or goal. You search houses for weapons, food and bandages and try to stay alive.

This is an early prototype. There are bugs, missing sounds and unfinished parts.

In this build

• A town of about 2 × 2 km with houses you can enter.
• Hunger, thirst, injuries, bleeding and infection.
• Day and night cycle and weather.
• Zombies in houses and on the streets. They follow you once they see you.
• Firearms, melee weapons and throwables. Ammo is limited.
• Cars you can drive.
• Map, minimap and 3 save slots.
• Co-op for up to 4 players through Steam (experimental, see below).

Not in yet

• Goals, story or progression.
• Building or crafting.
• Skill books raise a level, but the levels have no effect yet.
• Sounds for many actions.

Multiplayer

Co-op works through Steam. The game doesn't have its own Steam page yet, so it uses Spacewar, the free test app Valve gives developers (app 480). That means:

• Everyone needs Steam open and logged in. Steam will show you as playing "Spacewar". You don't need to install Spacewar.
• Everyone opens Ablocalipse before joining. If the game is closed when you accept an invite, Steam tries to start Spacewar instead.
• The host starts or continues a game, opens the pause menu (Esc) and uses Invite. The other players accept the invite with the game open, or right-click the host in their Steam friends list and choose "Join Game".
• Without Steam open, the game runs single player.

Co-op has barely been tested in this town yet, so expect problems.

Controls

• WASD: move. Shift: sprint. Ctrl: crouch.
• Hold Alt: aim. Left click: shoot or use. Right click: action menu.
• R: reload. Q: swap weapon. V: melee. G: throw. T: change throwable.
• E: interact. Tab: inventory. H: quick heal. X: drop.
• M: map. L: head lamp. Mouse wheel: zoom. Esc: menu.
• Car: W/S throttle and brake, A/D steer, Space handbrake, L lights, E get out.

Install

Windows 64-bit. Unzip and run Ablocalipse.exe, or install it with the itch app. The game isn't signed, so Windows may show a SmartScreen warning. Click "More info" and then "Run anyway".

PT-BR: Ablocalipse é um jogo de sobrevivência com zumbis, visto de cima, numa cidade abandonada. Por enquanto é um sandbox, sem história nem objetivo: você revira casas atrás de armas, comida e ataduras e tenta continuar vivo. É um protótipo no começo, com bugs, sons faltando e partes inacabadas. Não tem construção, e os níveis de habilidade ainda não têm efeito.

Co-op de até 4 pela Steam, ainda experimental. Como o jogo ainda não tem página própria na Steam, ele usa o Spacewar (app de teste gratuito da Valve, 480): todos precisam da Steam aberta e aparecem "jogando Spacewar". Abram o Ablocalipse antes de entrar; quem hospeda convida pelo menu de pausa (Esc), e os outros aceitam com o jogo aberto ou clicam com o botão direito no amigo na Steam e escolhem "Entrar no jogo". Sem a Steam aberta, o jogo roda para um jogador só.
